1/29/2019 1 Comment Ready...Set...Go!Last Spring, we had an amazing blueberry u-pick season. We absolutely loved meeting new faces every Saturday and catching up with old friends and family as well. It was so fun to hear where everyone came from and how they found our little farm. We tried lots of new blueberry recipes throughout the season and we earned a pretty good reputation with our home raised hamburgers too! After the u-pick season wrapped up, we started brainstorming on some new ways to share our ranch with the community. From that conversation came our first annual Blueberry 5k! So many people in our local community have not had the chance to experience Florida's native and wild beauty. Have you eve walked through an old Florida oak hammock? Have you seen the diversity of the plants and trees? Have you ever been captivated by the Spanish moss swaying in the breeze on the limbs of a majestic Live oak?! If you haven't, well....you should! Our 5k course is right next the blueberry farm and winds through the undeveloped woods and pasture of the ranch. The best part is, once you finish, you can head right over to the u-pick field and get some fresh blueberries to refuel. We hope that you will join us on Saturday, April 6, 2019. The 5K is set to start at 8:30 am and U-Pick will follow right behind! Registration is live now and all skill levels are welcome!

3/14/2017 0 Comments A New arrivalLast summer, Denton and Michelle surprised us all with the announcement that they were expecting baby number 3! We have been anxiously awaiting their sweet baby's arrival so we could find out whether Chapman Grandbaby #11 would be a boy or a girl!
After several weeks of bed rest and a couple false alarms, sweet Kenya Rein finally decided to make her debut! Denton and Michelle delivered a beautiful Baby girl on the evening of March 7, and I think its safe to say that the whole family is smitten! 7/25/2016 1 Comment Ranch NewsIt has been a very busy and very HOT summer here on the ranch. While we continue our day to day operations taking care of the purebred Brahman and commercial cattle herds, we have recently branched out into a new ag-venture with planting blueberries! After many months of research, planning and preparation, we finally got plants in the ground in May of this year. Watching the plants get delivered and setting them out to be planted was an exciting time for the whole family and even the littlest members came out to celebrate the occasion! We are definitely looking forward to our first harvest in the Spring of 2017. It will be a sweet reward to see the fruits of all the hard work that has been put into making this blueberry farm happen. Jimmy, Denton, Gibbs, and Clifton have spent countless hours out in the field keeping everything on track. As of now, the plan is to commercially harvest the blueberries, however, we are looking into the possibility of opening up for u-pick as well. We would love to provide that opportunity for our community to come out and hand pick some locally grown blueberries, so we will definitely keep you updated on that matter as the spring approaches. Burning Holes in the liner where each plant will be planted. 32,000 holes ready for plants While the guys set out all the plants, a second crew came in behind them and started planting.
