Some Helpful Tips:
- Your beef purchase is an investment for your family! You will need a deep freezer. We recommend a 10+ cubic ft freezer for a half steer and a 21+ cubic ft freezer for a whole steer.
- All prices are based on the hanging weight*
- Hanging weight averages between 800-950 pounds for a whole steer
- Your net yield weight after cutting and trimming will be about 65% of the hanging weight. This is due to the loss of bone and excess fat.
How does this process work?
Once your order is placed and your deposit has been received, there are a few steps:
Once your order is placed and your deposit has been received, there are a few steps:
- We select your steer from the ranch and deliver it to our local processor.
- At the processor, the beef goes through a process called dry aging for approximately 21 days. This process increases the tenderness and enhances the flavor of the beef.
- During that time, You will be contacted to discuss how your beef will be cut. You can download an example cut sheet here.
- Once the beef is ready, we will pick it up from the processor and schedule a time for you to pick it up at the ranch! The beef will arrive frozen, and packed into cardboard boxes for you to take home.
